Tracey's United Pentecostal Church ExperienceHi,I just stumbled across your site and had to e-mail you. I also had a bad experience with the UPC. The UPC lured me in when I was 16 years old, and my Pastor was very difficult. He made me feel terrible - I was very new in the church and I wore a short skirt downtown, and he preached about my skirt that Sunday night. Additionally, I attended AMI which was Apostolic Missionary Institute in Oshawa, Ontario. We were forced to go to class at 5:30 a.m. every morning, and the classrooms in the church were always freezing cold. I always thought there was a kind of mind control thing going on there. About two years into AMI I was praying for death nearly every night so I wouldn't have to endure the cold classrooms so early in the morning. Also - a man who was also a member of the UPC in Picton was charged with molesting Sunday School kids - he's now an award winning gospel artist - makes you wonder doesn't it? I left the church in 1991, and am now finally happy. I can wear jeans, wear my clothes whatever lengths I want and cut my hair. I don't think God every intended for people to be as spiritually bound as the UPC likes to keep their people. I want to thank you for your site. When I came across it I had never run across another person who had a bad experience with the UPC. Take Care, Tracey Posted August 31, 2002
