1952 United Pentecostal
Church Ministers
Below are two links that will take you to a complete listing of the ministers that were part of the United Pentecostal Church in 1952. As directories have been put together in the fall of the prior year, this listing more accurately reflects ministers from 1951.
For those who have dial up, please be forewarned that the files are around seven and eight MB in size. I broke the listing up into two separate PDF files to try and make it easier for those with slower connections. If you have cable or DSL, you should have no problems accessing them.
It's not everyday that one gets a chance to look this far back into the past of the UPC, so close to their beginnings, so I am glad to be able to provide those interested with a complete listing as was found in the 1952 directory. Enjoy finding familiar names and what level of licensing they held at the time.
Some may also find it interesting how many women were licensed as ministers in the early days of the organization. If one were to remove the women from the 1952 directory, the number of UPC ministers would significantly drop.
One other note of interest is that the "colored" ministers are listed at the end of the directory and set apart under the category of "Colored Ministers." There were five at the time, with two being women. Of note was Willie Johnson, a woman I heard mentioned quite favorably by my former UPC pastor.
