Not A Time to Let Down

I was not raised UPC. I came to God in 1971. I attended Sunday School regularly and knew that I needed the Holy Ghost in order to be saved. Just before my 13th birthday God gloriously filled me with the Holy Ghost, I was baptized in the saving name of Jesus and have been living for God ever since.

I don't know how old you are, but in '71 retail stores didn't sell long dresses. (We had to make our clothes). All the girls in my Jr. high school wore pants or very short skirts. I gave my life to God and gave up my pants and short dresses. I stood out like a sore thumb. Sometimes I did want to look like everybody else. But in my heart I knew that if they had what I had they would give up some things too. The way I saw it and still see it is that God gave His All for us why would giving up pants, make-up or anything else be too great a price to pay.

I don't see this as a time to give up, give in or let down.

Still Living it,

Norma Lopez
